Alfred W. Cadman, 71, of Hanson, Massachusetts died on February 25 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston.
He is survived by his wife Trisha (Buttner) Cadman of 49 years, his son Matthew Cadman and wife Nora of Scituate, MA and daughter Alisha Hopkins and husband Shane of Hanson, MA. He was lovingly referred to as “Grumps” by his five grandchildren: Noah, Brody, Avery, Harper and Andie, who adored him.
Born in Weymouth, Massachusetts in 1948, to the late Alfred Cadman and Dorothy (Rogman) Cadman. He was brother to the late Gary Cadman and wife Ellie, Kenneth Cadman and wife Irene, Wayne Cadman and wife Michelle and Judy Durant and husband Richard.
Al attended Northeastern University and retired as an Electrical Designer from GTE and General Dynamics. In his retirement, Al enjoyed his part time job at Shaw’s in Hanson, MA.
Al is also survived by the OMBs, sisters-in-law Janet Hutchins and husband Ed, Jackie Bessette and husband Peter, Michelle Bergeron and husband John and brothers-in-law Jay Buttner and wife Denise and Steven Buttner and wife Joanne. He leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.
Al spent countless summers with close friends and family down in Dennisport, MA and was known for devoting summer afternoons to the volleyball court. He also enjoyed many winters in Florida with Trisha and made 42 memorable trips to the happiest place on earth with his children and grandchildren, always staying to watch the fireworks.
His funeral service will be held Monday March 2 at 11:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours are on Sunday March 1 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
