Alice B. (Desjeunes) Maillet, 89 of New Bedford died February 25, 2020 after a long illness at Sacred Heart Home surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of the late Arthur D. Maillet.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late George and Antonia (Lafleur) Desjeunes, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was formerly employed as a cafeteria worker at New Bedford High School for many years until her retirement.
Mrs. Maillet was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
She enjoyed reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Donald Maillet and his wife Elise of Austin, TX; 3 daughters, Nancy Borden and her significant other Ron Souza of Swansea, Sharon Pickering and her husband Phil of New Bedford and Susan Ward and her husband Gary of Windsor, MO; 14 grandchildren, Christopher and Jeff Souza, Heidi Reid, Priscilla Bell, Matthew, Dulcinea, Marc, Tet and Caleb Maillet, Aaron Pickering, Sara Edwards, David Besse, Kaitlyn Eneff and Kelsey Ward; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Raymond Desjeunes and Rita Carrier.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 29th at 9 AM in St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
