Gerald T. "Jerry" Tucker of Medford died on Sunday, February 23. Raised and educated in Roxbury, he was the son of the late John and Dorothy (Warnock) Tucker. Gerald proudly served in the Navy, and later worked for the City of Everett. He moved to Medford 24 years ago. Gerald loved golf, bingo, scratch tickets and going to casino's. His favorite meal was a McDonald's Happy Meal with two cheeseburgers and three pickles, french fries and a root beer.
Gerald was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Signorelli) Tucker, and the devoted father of Kim Vargus and her husband Dennis of Chelsea, Stephanie Kent of Everett, Geoffrey Tucker and his wife Jodie of Medford, and the late Tracey Tucker. He was the loving grandfather of Rachelle Heckman and her husband Paul, Dennis Vargus, Justine Vargus, Tiffany Ingles and her husband Nick, Cory Kent, Samantha, Gianna and Gemma Tucker, and the loving great grandfather of Nickolas Heckman. Gerald was the dear brother of Edward Tucker of Washington State, and the late Mary Klotzbeecher, Dorothy Day, and John Tucker. He is survived by his close friends of Michael Signorelli, Brian Kent, Kara Tucker and Jake Patti.
A memorial mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, on Saturday, February 29 at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours have been respectfully omitted.
