Domenico Tringali, age 86, of Woburn, formerly of Somerville, passed away February 22, 2020, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a lengthy period of declining health. Domenico was the beloved husband of the late Maria Tringali. Born in Augusta, Sicily, he was one of seven children of the late Giuseppe and Carmela Tringali.
Domenico has been a Woburn resident for over thirty years and prior to that he lived in Somerville for a period of time. Domenico worked his entire life as a commercial fisherman and owned and operated his own boat fishing out of Boston. Hard working and talented, He was well known and well respected in the commercial fishing industry. In 1982 Domenico was involved in a boating accident that forced him to retire. When not on the Open Ocean, Domenico enjoyed being at home with his family and working his garden. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. However, one of his greatest joys was his grandchildren and nothing made him happier than to be surrounded by them and those he loved.
Domenico is survived by his devoted children; Joseph Tringali and his wife Mary of Nashua, NH, Carmela Tringali of Woburn, Luci Connell and her husband Mike of Peabody, Salvatore Tringali of Raleigh, NC. He was the loving nonno of Dominique Higgins and her fiancé Nicholas Dascoli, Domenic, Christine, Gabrielle and Andrew Tringali, David and Mary-Kate Connell. Brother of Sebastiano and Ottavio Tringali, both of Sicily, the late Vincenzo, Carmelo, Gaetano and Salvatore Tringali. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Friday, February 28th, at 9 a.m. Followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
