LIMINGTON- Jerry John DePeter II, 61, died peacefully on Feb 21, 2020 at his home in Limington after a brief illness.
Jerry was born on May 21st, 1958 in Scarborough to Charles and Calista DePeter. He spent his childhood in Scarborough and attended Scarborough schools. Jerry was a self-employed floor covering installer for 40 yrs. It was a profession that he learned from his father and one that he passed on not only to his Son but his daughter as well. He was also a talented carpenter, helping his sister Peg and husband Marc in remodeling properties. There was very little that he could not do.
Jerry had a love of nature, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gathering fiddleheads in season and camping with his family. One of his favorite places to camp was along the Little Ossipee River in Limington. He spent many summers with his family along the banks connecting with old friends and meeting new ones, Swimming, fishing and spending time. It was some of his best memories with his kids growing up.
There was nothing more important to him than his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with them, teaching Jerry John and Ashley how to hunt and fish, Jerry becoming an avid hunter and Ashley an accomplished angler. He took pride in teaching his grandsons not only how to fish but showing them his secret places., telling them “come with me and we will catch the most” competing with his Daughter Ashley, a competition he always won.
He loved stock car racing and in his earlier years drove at Beech Ridge Speedway, where his mother used to love to go watch him race and cheer him on. He loved the patriots and the Red Sox and enjoyed spending time with family and friends watching the games.
His greatest love was always his family. his Son Jerry and his daughter Ashley grandsons Holden, Maxx and his newest Daxden. They were his pride and Joy.
He is predeceased by his Mother Calista who passed away in 2009. He is survived by his father Charles DePeter, his Ex-wife of 21 years Patty Ann Ames, His Son Jerry John Depeter III, daughter Ashley Depeter and son in law Travis Gammon, Grandkids Holden Gammon, Maxx DePeter and Daxden Gammon. Sisters Deb Dare and husband Hank, Darlene Young and husband Mike, Celeste Clarke and husband William, and Peg Tardif and Husband Marc many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and Nephews which he loved dearly. He will also be missed greatly by his dearest friend Ryan and his girlfriend Jenn, also his house mate Norman.
