Obituary

Pastor Wayne W. Anderson
Age 76 of White Bear Lake, Minnesota
Well Done, Thou Good and Faithful Servant

Wayne passed away peacefully on February 17, 2020. Born March 6, 1943 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Wilbur and Marcella Anderson. After a brief move to Montana as a boy, Wayne returned to St. Paul. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, through a church bus ministry. He attended Harding High School and Mechanic Arts Vocational School, graduating from both in 1961. After graduation, Wayne entered the Army in July 1964. He proudly served the United States in Germany. Wayne met the love of his life, Sharon (Sheets), and they were united in marriage on January 1, 1966. They were blessed with three children. Wayne supported his family by using typesetting skills. He co-founded A&B Print Shop in 1970.

An avid reader, Wayne would frequently be seen with his Bible and other books as he worked towards a deeper understanding of God’s word. God had been preparing Wayne’s heart for answering his call to serve him in ministry. Wayne answered the call when he entered Central Seminary in 1974. He served the Lord for 11 years as Pastor of First Baptist Church in Tyler, Minnesota. He founded Northeast Baptist Church in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. After multiple health challenges, Wayne retired but continued to serve God and witnessed to those he encountered in daily life. He always found joy in meeting other believers and leading others to the Lord. In later years, he attended Immanuel Baptist Church in St. Paul and enjoyed hosting seasonal events in their home for the congregation, including singspiration and a fall weenie roast. Wayne and Sharon opened their home to many and hosted the neighborhood and smaller groups for bonfires. All for God’s glory.

Wayne looked forward to attending the Temple Baptist Luncheon each month. He was an accomplished chef, enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, gardening, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family and friends. He always had a funny story to share with others and provided spiritual guidance, comfort and support to everyone he encountered, even as he approached the end of his earthly life. His loving, gentle spirit will be forever missed, but never forgotten.

Survived by his loving wife Sharon; children Steven (Kristin), Joel (Lisa) and DeNean Tisell; ten grandchildren Brandon (Alicia), Breyden, Cameron, Grace, Cullen, Andrew, Jaryn, Will, Faith and Nicholas; two great-grandchildren Isaiah & Isabelle; sister Darlene (Jack) Huppert; numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends and church family. Preceded in death by his parents and family friend Perry Lindgren.

Wayne’s final wish is that if you do not yet know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior – that his passing brings you closer to taking that final step. His life served as a testimony of all the great things God can do in your life, once you ask forgiveness and put your faith in Him.
