Obituary

Judy Marie Lovett of West Medford passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2020 in Lincoln, Massachusetts. Judy was born at the Boston Lying In Hospital to Ronald Benjamin Lovett and Joan Lorraine (Rhone) Lovett on April 2, 1953 and was raised in West Medford. She attended Cambridge School of Weston, and then transferred to Medford High School where she graduated. Judy also took some college courses.

Judy worked for both First National Bank and Sentry Insurance for many years. During the summers, she either played in or helped run her grandfather’s tennis tournaments at the Rhone Tennis Courts in West Medford. When Judy wasn’t at the tennis courts, she could be found spending time with the family, ice-skating, riding her bike, singing and dancing the night away, and hanging out with friends at Duggar Park.

“Cutie Judy,” a term of endearment coined by her mother, will be fondly remembered for her outgoing personality, great sense of humor, her love of music and sports cars, quick wit, going out of her way to help others, passion for basketball, and watching western movies. Judy never had a dull moment. She would always find a way to bring life to any party or situation. She will be greatly missed.

Judy is preceded in death by her grandfather (maternal) Clarence A. Rhone, grandmother (maternal) E. Louis H. Rhone, grandfather (paternal) Lawrence L. Lovett, grandmother (paternal) Marion Lovett, and father Ronald Benjamin Lovett. She is survived by her loving mother Joan Lovett, her children Jarrett Lovett and Quynn Lovett, her brother Walter Washington, her grandchildren Samaya Lovett, Jeremy Duhon, and Zoë Lovett, and her extended family: (PCAs) Kathy Jones, Jeffrey Sanders, and Shemika Hillegass.

The Lovett family would like to sincerely thank you for your support, prayers, and visits during our time of sorrow. We would also like to extend our profound thanks to her personal care assistants, doctors, nurses, hospice staff, Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, Shiloh Baptist Church, and the West Medford Community Center for all their support during this difficult time.
