On Monday, February 10, 2020 the North Shore lost a bit of sunshine. Jimmy Deschene, 82, of Danvers and a former resident of Salem, passed away peacefully at the Beverly Hospital with his brother Bob at his side. Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Cecile M. (Michaud) Goral and the late Emile Deschene.
An avid local sports enthusiast he enjoyed keeping score for many of the local teams. He was a huge fan of the Bishop Fenwick and Danvers High School Volleyball Teams, for which he was awarded special team shirts. Jimmy also worked alongside Athletic Director Della Monica at the North Shore Community College campus. He also enjoyed a certain notoriety for his rendition of “My Way” at the Salem VFW Karaoke Night. What Jimmy lacked in talent, he made up for in style and confidence. He brought much joy, humor and many smiles to all who knew him.
Jimmy is survived by his brother Robert C. “Bob” Goral and his wife Lois of Lynn, his niece Kim Goral of Lynn, his nephew Scott Goral of Rehoboth, MA and many cousins, including Donna Sheehan of Lynnfield and Pauline Stevens of Salem and many friends.
