Violetta M. Bonini passed away peacefully at the Winrose of Woburn Nursing Center on Tuesday morning, February 11th. She was 95. Born and raised in Fosciandora, Lucca, Italy she was the daughter of the late Samuele and Caterina (Garda) Bonini.
A Medford resident for most of her life, Violetta enjoyed a long career in business as a payroll officer. Devoted to her family, she loved spending time with relatives and friends especially with her twin sister Viviana. Together they enjoyed walking the Fellsway and impressed everyone with their matching purple coats and black hats. They loved doing everything together. Violetta loved keeping a beautiful garden and made sure the vegetables were bordered by the most elegant array of flowers. Well known to neighbors and members of the community, she will be missed by those who knew her.
Violetta was the last surviving sister of Florence, Isabella, Genevieve and identical twin Viviana Bonini. She was a loving aunt to Stephen Nardone and his wife Marie, Gerald Nardone and his wife Susan, and great aunt of Kristina, Stephen, Matthew, Alexis, Olivia and Alexander Nardone.
A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Saturday, February 15th at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 10 to 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
