Jean G. Gately (1924 – 2020)
Jean Gately, nee Graf, was born in Buffalo, NY, resided in Fiskdale, MA, and passed
away peacefully on February 10th.
She was predeceased by her husband, Russell E. Gately and was the mother of:
Martha Roth (Russell), Thomas (Jane), and Molly Neureuther (Randy). Her
grandchildren include Nathan Gately, Reid Neureuther and Lauren Neureuther.
She was a recipient of the DAR Medal in 8th grade.
Jean was a graduate of University of Michigan – School of Dental Hygiene (1943)
where she was President of her graduating class and a member of Alpha Chi Omega.
She went on to practice dental hygiene for many years.
She was an active member of Glenwood Presbyterian Church as an Ordained Elder,
Clerk of Session and Organist.
She was also an avid skier and ski instructor.
Jean moved to New England in 1995 and volunteered as a tutor for Literacy
Volunteers of America.
A small memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, NY, in late
April.
