Jarvis W. “Jake” Magee Sr, age 77 of Brockton Ma, died unexpectedly February 7, 2020. Jake was the loving husband for 55 years to Shirley J. (Sweeting). Born in Raleigh NC and raised in Brockton from an early age. He was a 1961 graduate of Brockton High School and after graduation he joined the US Army 1962-1967.
After his service he joined the Brockton Police Department and the DARE program until retiring in 2003. Jake also was a longtime member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle as a Sunday school teacher and later as a Deacon for over 40 years.
Jake was the brother of the late Arcilla “Archie” Magee and also the late William W. Magee. He leaves behind his children Suellen, Jarvis “Warren” Jr and the the late Joshua A. Magee. His grandchildren Chandre J., Joshua A Jr., Jalese, Beniel and Mycheila. He also leaves behind his in laws Grace Sweeting, Margaret and her husband Richard Shanks, Louise and her husband Daniel Sweeting, Kathy and her husband Joe Lugo and many nieces and nephews and a host of adopted sons, daughters and God children.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Wednesday February 12, from 4-7pm. Funeral Service in the funeral home on Thursday at 11am. Burial will be at a later date.
