Lillian was born in Providence, RI to Mario and Anna (Calcione) Luzzi. She passed peacefully from this world at the age of 87 at Cortland Place in Greenville. She grew up in Providence with her siblings Michael, Edward, Amelia, Virginia, Anna and Marilyn. Lillian attended Providence public schools. In high school she took typing and shorthand and worked as a secretary after graduation. She was a very fast typist, and the electric typewriter was the perfect new technology for her speedy fingers.
She married John DiMeo in May 1955 and had two children, Cheryl and John. They lived in Johnston. Lillian is survived by her children Cheryl and her husband Peter Loveley, and John and his wife Deborah, by her 3 grand-daughters and their husbands Caroline Loveley, Mary and Shane Hottin, and Jamie and Anthony DiLorenzo, by her 3 great-grandchildren Anthony, Cameron and Olivia DiLorenzo, and by her sisters Marilyn and Virginia Luzzi. All of us will miss her dearly.
Lillian enjoyed sewing and knitting and needlepoint. She excelled at these skills as she was very meticulous. She was a very petite woman, and when she was young, junior and petite sizes were not available, so she made her own clothes. She made dance costumes for her younger sister and surprised herself by sewing a cheerleading outfit for her daughter without the benefit of a pattern. She made a beautiful play dress-up wedding dress for her granddaughter. And her lovely afghans have survived many years and much use.
She was a religious woman and enjoyed church and bible study. She also enjoyed socializing with friends and family. Lillian loved music, and even as she aged, music would always make her smile.
