Webster – Raymond N. Gauthier, 85, formerly of Dudley, died February 7, 2020 in the Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester after a brief illness. His first wife of 55 years, Theresa B. (Placzek) Gauthier died in 2016.
He leaves his loving wife, Beverly (Hoye) Dery Gauthier of Webster; a son, Michael Gauthier of Webster; 2 step-sons, Stephen and his wife Rose Dery of Webster and Richard Dery of Key West, Florida; a step-daughter-in-law, Judy Dery of Webster; 6 step-grandchildren, Scott Dery, Christopher Dery, Luke Dery, Matthew Dery, Hayden Dery & Treton Dery; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother Armand Gauthier.
He was born in Dudley, a son of Arisse Gauthier and Olive (Nadeau) Gauthier Patenaude. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School in Webster and graduated from Mount St. Charles Academy in Rhode Island.
He served in the United States Marine Corps for four years during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Gauthier worked as a truck driver for Wajer’s Express for 36 years. After retirement he drove truck for Yankee Spirits until 2016. He was a member of the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council and the Booster AC Club. He was also a member of the Auburn Veterans.
He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and hunting and playing cards.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Black of Saint Vincent’s Hospital, Dr. Dmetry Levenson and the staff at the South County Dialysis Center in Webster.
A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM in Saint Stephen’s Church (please meet at church). Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster, with military honors provided by the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council. There are no calling hours. Donations in his name may be made to Webster-Dudley Veterans Council, 3 Veterans Way, Webster, MA 01570.
