Barry Newell Drew, formally of Brockton, currently resided in Russellville, AR was born May 23, 1957 to the late Vernon Newell and Evelyn Frances Cummings Drew, has passed away after valiantly fighting pancreatic cancer February 4, 2020.
Barry graduated from Whitman-Hanson Regional High School Class of 1976. He then went on to work for the United States Postal Service in several different areas. Starting as a rural carrier in Brockton, Ma, then a city carrier in both Brockton and Stoughton, MA, and also Ft. Smith, AR until retiring as a Supervisor of Customer Service in Russellville, AR. Barry spent 32 years with the Postal Service.
Barry loved the spending time with family, fishing, playing golf, was an avid sports fan watching his well loved Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots, enjoyed RVing the last year full-time with his wife and daughter, and vacationing in Florida and Vermont.
He is survived by his wife Christina Irene Drew of Russellville, AR, and 2 of his sisters Claire and her husband Ross Gustafson of Bradenton, FL and Pam Drew of Taunton. His 4 children Barry Newell Jr and his fiancee Maria Sotomayor of Brockton, MA, Jennifer Marie and her husband Nathan Drew of Rutland, MA, Megan Christine and her fiance Fred Baker of Raynham, MA, Caitlyn Sloane Drew of Russellville, AR and his 4 step-children Lenel Jacinda and her husband Cody Scharbor of Magazine, AR, Nicholas Aaron Tripp of Stoughton, MA, Victoria Anne Tripp and her partner Caleb Shaddon of Marion, MT, and Roger Russell Tripp of Stoughton, MA. He has 10 grandchildren who he was so proud of Lexi Scharbor, Kimber Stevenson, Camden Scharbor, Christian Scharbor, Arya Shaddon, and Abel Scharbor of Magazine, AR, Rowan Drew and Willow Drew of Rutland, MA, and Aramis Shaddon and Lyria Shaddon of Marion, MT.
He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Evelyn Drew, 2 sisters Verna Drew and Diane Amaral and grandson Connor Shaddon.
His memorial service will be held Saturday February 8, 2020 at 7pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 547 Manley St, West Bridgewater.
