Mrs. Alice M. (Keohane) Neaves, a resident of Westford, formerly of Andover and beloved wife of the late Ernest J. Neaves, passed away after a long battle with Cancer. In hospice care at home for many months prior to her death, she died peacefully at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill on Friday, January 31, 2020. She was 91 years old.
Born in Arlington, Massachusetts, on February 29, 1928, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Collins) Keohane. Mrs. Neaves was a graduate of the Mt. St. Joseph Academy in Brighton. She had been employed as a teacher's aide in Andover, for many years. She was a voracious reader often having multiple books going at once. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren (especially at her summer cottage at Hampton Beach) and sharing stories about them with her many friends. She will be dearly missed.
Alice is survived by her loving children; Christopher F. and his wife Cathryn A. Neaves of Andover, Katherine M. and her husband Eric M. Kingsley of Westford and Mark A. and his wife Nancy A. Neaves of San Juan Capistrano, California, brother; Joseph "Bob" and his wife Beverly Keohane of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, sister-in-law; Margaret Keohane of Chelmsford, grandchildren; Aaron, Zachary, Allison, Stella and Charlotte and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Gerard J. Neaves.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Friday, February 14, 2020, at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Thursday, February 13, 2020, from 3 to 7 PM.
