Obituary

Louis Gerald “Jerry” Samia, 80, of Wells, Maine formerly of Bellingham, Massachusetts. passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a fall and brief hospitalization. Born in Leominster, Ma April 10, 1939, son of the late Louis and Margarete Samia, he graduated Leominster High School and went on to Bentley College.
He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard.

He is predeceased by his brothers Donald and Robert and by his sister, Barbara Samia. His brother, David Samia, and wife Ethel, still reside in Leominster.

He is survived by his wife, Beryl Samia of 38 years; his children, Charlie Samia and wife Julie, Elizabeth Luce and husband David, Emily Landry and husband David; his grandchildren, Tracy (Samia) Callahan, Kelly (Samia) Kershiner, Andrew Luce, Alexandra Luce, Alana Landry, and Joshua Landry; his 4 step children, Bryan Gould and wife Elizabeth, Wayne Gould and wife Shirley, Bradford Gould and wife Mary, and Deanna (Gould) Grammenos and husband Nick; his 13 step grandchildren, Walter Gould, Charles Gould, Robert Gould, Elizabeth (Gould) McNicholas, Carolyn (Gould) Dziengeleski, Ryan Gould, Kevin Gould, Bethany Gould, Ashley Gould, Katelyn Gould, Matthew Gould, Alexander Grammenos, and Kristiana Grammenos; and great step-granddaughter, Olivia. Also, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jerry was a fine Christian man who served the Lord faithfully all his life. He led many men in the study of the Bible. He loved to travel, and his family was paramount in his life. He will be missed deeply by all who knew him.

Calling hours will be from 12-2 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2020 in the Medway Community Church, Medway, MA., immediately followed by the funeral service.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 2 pm, Church on the Cape, Cape Porpoise, ME.

In lieu of flowers, his request was for donations to be made to either the National Right to Life, 4 Washington St., Auburn, ME 04210 or Parkinsons Research, 5969 Cattleridge Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34232.
