Lidia N. (Neves) DePina, 89, of New Bedford died February 1, 2020 after a brief illness at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Luis T. DePina.
Born and raised in Brava, Cape Verde, daughter of the late Joaquim DaLomba Neves and Belmira (Pina) Neves, she came to New Bedford in 1980 seeking a better life, where she met her late husband.
She was formerly employed as a stitcher at Cliftex for many years until her retirement.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Francisco DePina of Georgia and David DePina of New Bedford; a daughter, Adelina DePina of New Bedford; 7 brothers and sisters, Ilda Alves of New Bedford, Jose Neves of Florida, Maria Monteiro of New Bedford, David Neves of Cape Verde, Filomena Neves of New Bedford, Carolina Neves of France and Joaquim Neves of Cape Verde; 6 grandchildren, Kianna, Marrisa, Kassandra, Jonathan, Matthew and Joshua; a great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Joao Neves, Jose Manuel Neves and Gabriel L. Neves.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday Feb, 7th at 10 AM in the International Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
