Obituary

Phillip L. Mourao, 46, of Hope, RI, died Sunday, February 2, 2020 at home after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in New Bedford, son of Jaime Mourao and Debra (Mello) Kibbe, he lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to Rhode Island.

He was formerly employed as a groundskeeper at the Valley Country Club in Warwick for many years.

Phillip was an avid sports fan with a vast knowledge of sports history and especially enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots. He also loved to ride his motorcycle.

He is survived by his mother, Debra Kibbe; his father, Jaime Mourao and his wife Peggy; two daughters, Chrysten and Kellie Mourao; his brother, Richard Mourao and his wife Sarah; four grandchildren, Cora, Brayden, Giovanni, and Karson; his nephew, Dylan; his niece, Madisyn; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his step-father, Carl Kibbe.

His visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford with a service taking place at 6 PM, during the visitation. Burial will be private.
