Ruth A. (Simonds) Boucher, age 87, passed away on Jan. 30, 2020 at Daybrook Village in Holyoke. She was born on Oct. 31, 1932 in Chicopee, a daughter of the late James T. Simonds, Sr., and Anna Rose (Connor) Simonds. She was a former communicant of St Patrick’s Parish. She is predeceased by her husband Thomas M. Boucher who passed away in 2008. She is survived by 2 sons, Michael J. Fonfara of Chicopee and Michael T. Boucher of Ludlow; 4 daughters, Ellen M. Fonfara and her husband Alan Garstka, MD of Bedford, NH, Charlotte M. Hiller of South Hadley, Leslie P. Hiller of Amherst and Nancy J. Dufault and her husband Eugene of Hampden; 3 brothers, James T. Simonds Jr and his wife Teresa of Springfield, Francis X. Simonds and his wife Dotty of Hampden and Thomas L. Simonds and his wife Linda of Longmeadow; 1 sister Margaret J. Mallalieu and her husband Richard of East Longmeadow; 1 sister-in-law Mary Simonds of South Hadley; 7 grandchildrn, 3 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter Karen F. Hiller; brother Robert C. Simonds and sister Marion U. Fonfara. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020 at 9:00 AM at the funeral home followed by A Mass of Christian Burial in Assumption Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
