Joanne M. Collins, 71

Joanne M. (Mazzeo) Collins, age 71, of North Easton, MA, formerly of North Conway, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Seasons Hospice in Milton. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Collins, Jr., to whom she was wed for nearly twenty-eight years at the time of his death in 2012.
Born in Boston, MA on October 11, 1948, she was the loving daughter of the late Dorothy R. (Berkely) Wind. Joanne grew up in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston and was a 1966 graduate of Mission Hill High School.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Collins had been employed as a store manager at the Hanes Retail Store locations in Wrentham, Connecticut and North Conway, New Hampshire. She had also happily worked as a waitress for twenty-five years.
A resident of North Easton for the past eight years, Joanne was a devote Catholic who treasured the times spent with her family and grandchildren. Her interests included watching murder mysteries, listening to music and reading.
She is survived by her devoted children: Paul R. Burns and his wife Kami of Paso Robles, California, Stephen M. Burns and his fiancé Diane Neuharth of Mansfield, Kelly-Anne Evans and her husband Stephen of Norton and the late David Burns. She was the dear sister of Al Meister and his wife Susan of Taunton, William Mazzeo, II of Hull and his late wife Heather and John Wind of West Roxbury. She is also survived by her adoring 9 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, as well as her nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 4th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street, Norton. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:30 P.M.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 3rd from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
