Helen R. (Vitagliano) Buonomo, of Malden, formerly of Somerville and Cambridge, passed away on January 31, 2020 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was 92 years old.
Helen was born in Cambridge on September 15, 1927, a daughter of the late Carmine Vitagliano and Angelina (Alfano) Vitagliano. She grew up in Cambridge where she was educated and attended Cambridge Latin High School. Helen was a homemaker who took care of her beloved family.
Helen is the beloved wife of the late Francis R. Buonomo. She is the devoted mother of Frank J. Buonomo and his wife Tina, John J. Buonomo and his wife Joan, and Mary J. Buonomo-Smith and her husband Peter. She is the loving nana to her grandchildren Nicole, Anthony, Lauren, Erica, and Matthew, and loving Chooky to her great-grandchildren Daniel, Ava, Mason, Rosalie, Parker, Brooks, and Remy. She is the beloved sister of Raphael Boncore, and the late Jimmy, John, Frank, Mike, and Joseph Vitagliano. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Helen’s visiting hour on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 9-9:50 A.M. in the Sacred Heart Church, 297 Main Street, Malden, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
