CHICOPEE ~ Sarah Y. (Belanger) Platt, 38, of Chicopee, was Called Home on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on April 3, 1981, a daughter of Jeffrey P. Belanger and Donna A. (Desmarais) Smith. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School in 1999 and was a lifelong resident of the city. During her leisure time, she enjoyed crafting, decorating and scrapbooking. She loved spending time with her amazing children who were her life and legacy. She loved being a “sports mom” driving them to and from their many sporting events where she was their biggest fan. Passionate in her faith, she was a member of LifePoint Church in Chicopee where she enjoyed being with her spiritual family. She leaves her loving husband, Edward L. Platt; her five cherished children, Justin and Kyle Landry and Kaleb, Ashlynne and Kailynne Platt, all of Chicopee; her beloved father, Jeffrey P. Belanger of Warren; her beloved mother, Donna A. Smith and her husband, Nelson, of Chicopee; her dear brother, Kevin P. Belanger and his wife, Gina, of Warren; her two dear sisters, Megan A. Davis and her husband, Nathan, of Chicopee and Dominica M. Gendreau of Key West, FL; her dear father-in-law, Edward W. Platt and his wife, Shawn, of Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada; her dear mother-in-law, Sarah L. Platt of Grantville, PA; her dear brother-in-law, Devin Platt of Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota; her dear sister-in-law, Angel Platt of Newberg, OR; and her many dear uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Platt, Belanger, Smith and Desmarais families. Her Chicopee Chargers Football Family will host a Candlelight Vigil Service on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bellamy Middle School Field, 314 Pendleton Avenue, Chicopee, MA 01020. All are asked to wear Sarah’s favorite color which was pink or are encouraged to wear their blue and gold Chargers colors. Pink candles or any color candles are welcome along with any posters of photos of Sarah. Her family will host Visiting Hours on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. which will be followed by a 7 p.m. Celebration of Life Service at LifePoint Church, 603 New Ludlow Road, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private. The St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 is assisting her family.
