David P. Hopkins passed away on January 26, 2020. He was 73 years old.
David was a lifelong resident of Malden and a United States Army Veteran in the Vietnam War with the 1st Cavalry Division. He was a longtime employee for Boston Gas and Verizon, and a former member of the D.A.V. and VFW organizations.
David was the beloved husband of Susan M. (McClellan) Hopkins. He was the loving father of Dave Hopkins Jr. and his wife Kerry of Malden. Dave was the brother of the late Richard, William, and John Hopkins and the late Sally Santilli. He was the cherished grandfather of Stephanie Morrison and William Stickney. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday February 4th at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Joseph’s Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
