E. Donna (Collins) Dyer, a Registered Nurse and longtime resident of Andover, died Sunday, January 26, 2020, at the Academy Manor Nursing Center in Andover. Donna was the beloved wife of Frank J. Dyer. She was 79 years old.
Born in Andover, she was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Lawrence and attended Merrimack College, Northeastern University and Northern Essex Community College.
Although her first name was Elizabeth, she was always known as Donna.
Prior to her career in nursing, she was a stewardess for TWA (Trans World Airlines) a hostess and a model.
A Registered Nurse, she worked for many years as a Visiting Nurse in California, Lawrence and Haverhill.
Besides her beloved husband, Frank, she is survived by her loving daughter; Shannon (Twomey) Patti of Plaistow, New Hampshire, sister; Maureen and her husband Andre Bouchard of Peabody, grandchildren; Steven M. and his wife Kaileigh Dube and their son Jacob of Chester, New Hampshire, Nicholas P. Patti, Kirsten E. Patti, Scott T. Patti and Zachary T. Patti, all of Plaistow and several nieces and nephews. Donna was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth M. (Buss) Collins and sister of the late Sheila Hiller and Tom P. Collins.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Friday, January 31, 2020, at 1 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Interment will be privately held at a later date. Calling hours have been omitted.
The family wants to express its deep appreciation to the staff at Academy Manor for the care of Donna during her years there.
