Worcester – Russell R. Niford, 79, of Worcester passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, January 19, 2020.
Russell was born in Worcester, son of the late Russell and Evelyn (Bloom) Niford and graduated from the former Worcester Boy’s Trade School where he studied welding. Upon graduation from Worcester Boy’s Trade Russell entered in to the United States Navy where he proudly served our country.
Mr. Niford is survived by his three sons, Michael R. Niford and his wife, Lacey of Charlton, Darren L. Niford and his wife, Millie of Holden and Duane A. Niford of Holden; a brother, Raymond W. Niford and his wife, Nancy of South Attleborough; a sister, Cheryl A. Raymond and her husband, Neil of Worcester; 6 grandchildren, Bret, Amanda, Zach, Gabriela, Alyssa and Kristi and many nephews and nieces. Russell is predeceased by a brother, Terry L. Niford who passed away in 2013.
Russell was a welder for over 25 years with Coppus Engineering and was a member at the former Worcester Lodge Elks #243.
Private funeral services are being held at the convenience of the family. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements.
