Jerald E. Jacobs, age 90, passed away on January 24, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on October 19, 1929 in Browning, Missouri. He was a son of the late Raymond C. and Gwendolyn (Lay) Jacobs. Jerald served in the US Army and later worked as a school custodian for the City of Springfield for many years. He mostly enjoyed working at Samuel Bowles School in Springfield before he retired. He is survived by his loving wife Loretta Elaine (Gravel) Jacobs of Springfield; 1 daughter Julie Kenney and her husband Richard of Springfield; 3 sons, Jerald Jacobs and his wife Paige of Springfield, Joseph Jacobs and his wife Linda of Agawam and Richard Jacobs and his wife Jamie of Ludlow; 2 sisters, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his 7 brothers and 1 sister. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise` Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, followed by burial in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
