Henry Cook, Jr., age 78, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 13, 2020.
Henry was born in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Henry Cook, Sr. and Annie Mae Cook. In 2005 he retired from Queens, New York and moved to Evans. He was a faithful servant of God and worshipped at the Sanctuary. He will be remembered for his hard work, love of Western movies (particularly Gunsmoke), and his thrill for fast cars.
In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Padgett Cook.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Cook; children, Sandra Battle, Andre Padgett, Carla Meiletta, and Elijah Felder (Lesa); seven grandchildren, Shanita, Carissa, Justin, Markita, Shimika, Malikia, and Helen; brother, Duncan (Aretha); sisters, Henrietta, Eleanor, and Elaine (James); seven sisters in law, Patricia, Bertha, Pinise, Willie Mae, Genether, Linda, and Virginia; brothers in law, James, Charles, and Irving Padgett; a special niece (Sonia), and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; and one brand new great-great granddaughter.
No local services will be held and Henry will be laid to rest in his hometown of Sumter, South Carolina.
