New Bedford – Russell D. McKay, 52, of New Bedford, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Lynn Ann (Braley) McKay.
He was born in Acushnet, son of Susan E. (Collins) McKay of Acushnet and the late Louis W. McKay, Sr., and had resided in the Acushnet and New Bedford area for most of his life. He was an auto mechanic who enjoyed working on cars. Mr. McKay was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, who enjoyed bowling, dancing and playing pool. He was loved by his family and friends.
Including his mother and wife, he is survived by 2 sons: Randy R. McKay of New Bedford and Ryan D. McKay of New Bedford; a daughter: Kristie-lynn McKay of New Bedford; 3 brothers: Louis W. McKay, Jr. of Rochester, Donald G. McKay of Fairhaven and Barry T. McKay of New Bedford; 3 sisters: Linda S. Wales of Acushnet, Karen E. Hooley of Rochester and Diane R. Poulin of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services on Monday, February 6, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford.
