Roberta (Bobbie) Mastrangelo, 78, of Manchester, NH, passed away on January 18, 2020 in her home after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
Bobbie was born on October 5, 1941, daughter of the late Sam and Mary (Capuano) Monson, in Everett, MA. She married the love of her life John Mastrangelo in 1961, and they raised their four children on Davis Street, where they both grew up. Bobbie retired from Sherwin Williams after many years of employment and in her free time enjoyed sewing and cooking.
She loved her family and would do anything for them. She loved bringing everyone together and cooking for the holidays, making her famous fruit topped cake for many special occasions. She had a great love for animals, especially her dogs, Jacque, Millie and Mollie. She loved sitting in the sun at the beach and lake and taking trips to Mohegan Sun with her husband. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Bobbie is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Mastrangelo; four children: Bobbi Rivera and her husband Dan, Sharon Kelleher and her partner Bryan O’Connell, Billy Mastrangelo and his wife Terry, and John Mastrangelo and his partner Daniel Williams; seven grandchildren: Michael Cardello, Kristen Chartier and her husband Bobby, Lisa Dore and her partner Mike Harrison, Tyler Kelleher, Ben Kelleher, Alex Mastrangelo and Isabel Mastrangelo; as well as four great grandchildren and two nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Rose Bals, and her brothers William and Samuel Monson.
Calling hours were held Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road in Londonderry, NH. A Catholic prayer service followed at 6:30 pm. A committal service was held in the chapel at the NH State Veterans Cemetery on Friday January 24, 2020 at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
