Dot as she was called, graduated from West Southern Pines High School and not too soon thereafter, Dot along with her parents the late George Norman Stone and Flora Christine Stone of Aberdeen, North Carolina migrated to Boston Massachusetts along with her siblings, the late Margaret Smith, Helen Johnson and Elmer George Stone. Dot had one sister that stayed in Aberdeen, the late Mary Dell McQueen. After some years Dot returned to Southern Pines, North Carolina and became the loving wife to the late Eddie R. Pride.
Dot enjoyed working as an Inhalation Therapist at Moore County Hospital of Southern Pines, North Carolina and during her tenure she enjoyed helping people. While she enjoyed her place of employment she hungered for those days when she could get in her car and go to fishing holes. She often bragged about the catfish that she caught which had to be approximately 2 feet long. When Dot wasn’t fishing, she was gardening and just enjoying the outside. Dot loved reading, crocheting, and either playing tennis or watching cable tennis and playing board games.
Dot leaves to cherish her memory: a very dear special family friend aunt Mayomi Spivey of Boston, MA, one daughter, Audrey Pride of Taunton, MA, one son, Gregory Stone of Boston, MA; Grandchildren, Attila Terrence Pride of Taunton, MA and Andre Jackson of Asheboro, NC; Great Grandchildren: D’Andre Jackson and Demanje Maness-Jackson of Asheboro, NC; a host of nieces, nephews and many other loving extended family members.
