DARTMOUTH — Marjorie L. (Belyea) Cooper, 95, of North Dartmouth, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. She and the late Earle W. Cooper had been married 71 years.
Marjorie was born on December 16, 1924, to Frank L. and Margaret N. Belyea. She was the mother of Karen A. Haskell of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Christine A. Streppa of Austin, Texas, Wayne T. Cooper of Clearwater, Florida, and the late Kurt D. Cooper; grandmother to Dennis R. Lewis, Tracy A. Ford, Michael W. Lewis, Benjamin D. Poyant, Jennifer C. Poyant and the late Joshua C. Poyant, and great-grandmother of six great-grandchildren.
Marjorie was employed as a bookkeeper at both the S.S. Kresge Company in New Bedford, and the Hobart Corporation in North Dartmouth. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing, and exploring roads, trails and pathways in the Southcoast area.
In recent years she resided at the Autumn Glen Assisted Living Community of North Dartmouth. The family expresses deep gratitude to the staff of Autumn Glen and to Marjorie’s caregiver, Christina Akuffo, for the compassionate care she received.
A private gathering will be held in Marjorie’s honor.
