Gary Swanberg
1953 - 2020
Gary Swanberg, of Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away on January 13, 2020, in his home, with his loving wife Nancy and devoted sister Karen by his side and the love of his many friends and family in his heart.
Gary is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nancy Swanberg, his sister Karen (Peter) and nine nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Bradford Swanberg. Born in Worcester, Gary was the son of the late Harry and Mary Jane (Bernard) Swanberg. He attended Central New England College.
Gary was a talented and creative musician, composer, writer, and software engineer; but his primary passion, other than his wife Nancy, was his spirituality. Gary was a beloved member of the Eckankar clergy. Eckankar, the path of spiritual freedom, believes that soul is eternal and love is infinite. Gary embraced that belief and used his humor, creativity, and unconditional love to help everyone he came in contact with to progress on their spiritual journey.
A service celebrating Gary’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Park View Room, 230 Park Avenue, Worcester. Park in the Cornerstone Bank parking lot.
