Mary was born in Portland on April 7, 1966, the first child of Ralph and Carol Brown of Sebago.
Mary is remembered by her loving Husband Fred Harrington of 35 years and her two Sons Nicholas and Wife Cathleen, Christopher and Wife Zoe. She is also survived by her Mother, Sister Melissa and Husband Kenneth Littlefield, their Daughter Kayla and Fiancé Jon Blum and her Aunt Ann Burns; along with hundreds of kids who passed through her daycare.
Mary was predeceased by her Father, her Grandparents Merle and Grace Brown and Uncle Robert Burns.
Mary attended Sebago Schools graduating from Lake Region High School and furthered her education at Casco Bay College. Her love of children spurred her desire to teach and inspired her to open Rainbow Valley Kids one of the first nationally accredited childcare facilities in Maine. She devoted 30 years of her life to her many “children” who attended her program. During this time her commitment to her kids motivated her to continue her education throughout her life, taking childhood development classes through the Maine college system.
As a child she developed a love and passion for horses, leading her to join 4-H. Her involvement in 4-H included showing her horses and many other agricultural endeavors. After becoming a mother, she enjoyed activities with her family, which included snowmobiling, bowling, and skiing. Later in her life, she developed a love for sailing and traveling.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at the Sebago Center Community Church at 1 pm. Celebration of life will take place downstairs at the Sebago Town Hall immediately following the service.
