Daurice M. Busby
1952-2019
Ms. Daurice Busby was born in Boston, MA on October 6, 1952, to Florence B. Strother and Warren C. Busby. Daurice attended St. Patrick’s High School where she earned her high school diploma. Daurice then earned a full scholarship from Northeastern University, to further her education. She majored in Language with a focus in both psychology and sociology. While completing her education and raising her only son Joel, she earned her bachelor’s degree. Before starting her career as a disability examiner/trainer, she worked as a bank teller and a dentist assistant. Daurice then started her career as a substance abuse counselor at a non-profit organization, F.I.R.S.T. In 1979, Daurice settled in as a State Employee working for D.D.S. as a Disability Examiner/ Trainer, where she worked for 37 years then retired in 2013. Daurice Busby was a great example of someone who achieved her life goals.
Daurice Busby was a strong, vibrant, courageous an intelligent woman. She was a woman who accomplished many goals and had great determination to be successful in anything she aspired.
Daurice is survived by her only child Joel Busby; her two grandchildren Izaiah Morgan-Busby and Tatiana Tinsley-Busby; her siblings Marilynn Busby, Warren Busby and Sharron Busby. Along with her nieces and nephews, she left behind her cousins and close friends.
Daurice was the matriarch of her immediate family. Since a young age Daurice was very independent, and self-motivated. She lived on her own since a young adult and balanced a great career unaided. Along with being ambitious, she was an entertaining, wonderful woman who could create fun where it lacked. But if she was enjoying her television, Daurice would politely let you know you were disturbing her. No matter how upset she was, she kept an elegance about her. Many people can attest that if she could, Daurice would try her best to help her loved ones, family and friends. Daurice admired spending time with her child and grandchildren. She leaves behind the legacy of her beautiful and courageous spirit to live on through them. Daurice M. Busby's unconditional love will be greatly missed.
