Richard L. Frenette, Sr., age 65, of Brockton, died December 17, 2019 at Brockton Hospital. Richard was the loving husband for 42 years of Maryanne (Flaherty) Frenette. Born and raised in Brockton, son of the late Henry E. and Ellen (Daggett) Frenette. Rich was a graduate of Brockton High School and Massasoit Community College. A hard worker and perfectionist, he had been employed for over 48 years by Shaw’s Supermarkets on West Center Street in Brockton and West Bridgewater stores before retiring in 2018.
He served as the Treasurer of the Provincetown Bears and was a member of the Channing Unitarian Universalist Church and NEFFA. Rich was extremely family oriented and loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He enjoyed gardening, attending the Annual Victorian Harvest Ball, spending time at the Cape and collecting moose memorabilia.
Rich was the father of Richard Frenette, Jr. and his wife Nicole, Katie McPhee and her husband Paul and Kylee-Anne Frenette and her companion Patrick Donahue; grandfather of Luke, Marissa, Tony and Elena Frenette, Rebecca and Kevin Russell and Aubree and Lilly Donahue. He was the brother of Linda Cerce and her husband Vinny and the late Ronald Frenette and his wife Linda. Rich was the uncle of Tara Darling, Vince Cerce, Jr. and the late Ron Frenette, Jr.
