Mrs. Patricia M. Gilgun, age 82, a Woburn resident for nearly sixty years formerly of North Cambridge passed away peacefully following a short illness, January 6, 2020, at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence J. Gilgun. Born in Cambridge she was the daughter of the late John F. and Katherine (Collins) Sheridan.
Patricia was raised and educated in North Cambridge and was a 1955 graduate of St. John High School in North Cambridge. She married her "sweetheart" Lawrence J. Gilgun in 1961 and settled in Woburn where together they would start their family. Patricia put herself through college attending night school at Northeastern University graduating Summa cum laude with a degree in accounting. Patricia worked for many years as a bookkeeper in the accounting industry prior to her retirement. Following retirement, together Patricia and Lawrence enjoyed traveling extensively all over Europe. They truly loved this time together. Patricia was always staying busy and enjoyed gardening, studying her family ancestry and always looked forward to nights out Irish dancing with her friends. Patricia was also a talented writer and over the years contributed writings that were published in "Growing in North Cambridge". She was an active St. Barbara Church parishioner for well over fifty years and also in more recent years enjoyed attending Mass at St. Eulalia Church in Winchester.
Patricia is lovingly survived by her children; Michael Gilgun and his wife Betsy of Grafton, Daniel Gilgun and his wife Melissa of Billerica, Diane Robillard and her husband David of Chelmsford. She was the loving grandmother of Nicholas, Cara, Jack and David Gilgun. Sister of Linda Keohane of Plainville, Jay Sheridan and his wife Jane of Canton, Eileen Berry and her late husband Charlie of Stoughton, Phil Sheridan and his wife Chris of Bethel, ME, Kathy Golota and her husband Tom of Norton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Saturday, January 11th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Patricia's memory to St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn, MA 01801.
