Helen C. Connelly, 79, of Derry, NH, died Thursday January 2, 2020 in her home. She was born in Eufaula, AL on August 14, 1940, a daughter of the late Luther and Jessie (Pittman) King. Prior to Derry, she had resided in Massachusetts and Pittsview, AL. Helen "Nana" was an avid Boston sports fan and was always up to date on the latest team standings. She enjoyed cooking and making meals for her family, playing bingo, listening to Cher and Bette Midler, playing scrabble, raising her parakeet Sydney, and lived to make others happy. Nana was adventurous, always ready to try something new. Her courage, strength, and determination have inspired all who know her. She will be missed by all of her friends and family, including her granddog Ellie and grandcat Bella.
She is survived by her two granddaughters, Jaime Zulli and Jessica Zulli, son in-law Alejandro of Campton, NH, sister Linda Wilkinson, brother Earl King, and other extended family. She was predeceased by her son Robert (Wayne) Connelly in 1982, and her daughter Susan B. Zulli in 2017.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
