Scott W. “Skip” Garner, 42, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, January 3, 2020, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Sunday, January 5, 2020, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Gary Mimbs officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 Sunday afternoon at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Scott was born July 27, 1977, in Marietta, Georgia, to Danny Scott Garner and Sara Faye Taylor Garner McCullough. He lived in the community most of his life and was a 1996 graduate of Fitzgerald High School where he was active in the JROTC. He worked for Protein Plus and MDI. He enjoyed yard work and planting flowers. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and drinking coffee. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was always joking and trying to cheer people up. His presence will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
He is survived by his companion, Peggy Peterson of Fitzgerald; father, Danny & Sherry Garner of Fitzgerald; mother, Sara Taylor McCullough of Fitzgerald; son, Christian Luke Garner of Fitzgerald; step-sons, Timothy Peterson and Gregory Eli Peterson, both of Fitzgerald; a granddaughter, Leeanna Padgett and another grandchild on the way; and brothers, Daniel Eli Garner, Sr. & Jennifer, Thomas Scarborough, Sr. & Cristle, Jason Scarborough & Elizabeth, William Scarborough, and Thomas Scarborough, Jr. & Robyn.
