Obituary

Baldwin - Marilyn D. Dolloff, 78, of Baldwin died at her home on December 28, 2019 surrounded by family after a long illness. She was born in Portland on December 20, 1941 a daughter of James and Beatrice (Wiggin) Babb.

She was educated in local schools and a graduate of Potter Academy in Sebago. She went on to study at the Univesity of Maine at Farmington, and later received a Culinary Arts Degree from Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in South Portland. She married Allan Dolloff on September 10, 1960.

Marilyn owned and operated her own bakery called Homestead Farm Bakery at her home in Baldwin for many years. She later worked for Reinhard Farms Nursury in Naples. She was also a ballot clerk for the Town of Baldwin for several years.

Marilyn belonged the University of Maine Extension, the Ladies Auxilliary of the North Baldwin Fire Dept., and the Baldwin Christmas Club. She always enjoyed cooking and baking as well as sewing and crocheting in her spare time. She and Allan also loved to travel. Above all Marilyn was always a devoted homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be forever missed by all who loved her.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Phillip Babb, and a sister, Carolyn Babb. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Allan Dolloff of Baldwin. A daughter, Lori Murch and husband Scott of Baldwin. A son, James Dolloff and wife Jennifer of Baldwin. Four grandchildren: Scottie Franklin and her husband Daniel, Nicole Dolloff, James Dolloff Jr. and Tasha Kneeland. Four great grandchildren: Meloney Dolloff, Zachary Franklin, Thorian Dolloff and Cole Robie. Three foster siblings: Dennis Athearn, Carolyn Noble and Priscilla Thorne; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be on January 26th from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Baldwin Community Center. A graveside service will be held in the spring. Arrangements are by Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, Cornish. Online condolences may be expressed at: www.mainefuneral.com
