Obituary

Robert W. Seamans, 88 of New Bedford died December 28, 2019 unexpectedly at home.
He was the husband of the late Barbara M. (Camara) Seamans.
Born and raised in Cortland, NY, son of the late Henry and Mona (Wood) Seamans, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Seamans was the proprietor of Bob's Texaco and later was a truck driver for Golub's Furniture Store.
He enjoyed the company of his dog Nikko and building model trucks.
Mr. Seamans enjoyed spending time with his family and took great pride in helping to raise his grandson Robert.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Sandra Seamans, Rhonda Costa and her companion Jesse Velez and Christine Seamans, all of New Bedford; 7 grandchildren, Danyle and her companion Ronnie, Lee Marie, Robert and his wife Soleiry, Cory, Chad, Kyle and Amy; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Randall Costa, Bruce Costa, Steven Costa and Christopher Seamans and the brother of the late Barbara Benjamin, Jean Slack and Betty Marsh.
His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 2nd at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His family will receive guests on Thursday from 10-11 AM prior to his service. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
