Janet M. Williams, age 86, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 while with her sons at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow New York. Janet was born on May 19, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Harriet Berry and John Brown. She married Roger S. Williams of Ossining, New York where they both resided for the majority of her adult life, right up to the day of her Heavenly transcending. Janet had two sons, Kevin M. Williams and Ross S. Williams.
Janet loved children and was a Montessori preschool teacher in Ossining for many years, and later owned and operated a childcare business which provided a loving atmosphere for many young children.
Janet enjoyed exercising, gardening, and dogs, as well as lovingly spending time with family and friends. She was a devout member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Ossining, and also a member of the Ossining Recreational Center where she regularly participated in social and recreational activities. Janet shared her nurturing spirit with everyone she encountered, especially her two adoring sons. Her physical presence will surely be missed by many, but her glorious spirit of love will eternally live on.
Janet was predeceased by her parents, husband, and sister Maxine Jennifer. She is survived by her two sons, brothers Arnold C. Berry and Rodman H. Berry, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Per Janet’s request to be cremated there wasn’t a wake or funeral.
A Memorial Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 2pm – 6pm at Grace Hall, 7 Old Albany Post Road, Ossining, New York 10562
