William Joseph Kelley, 71 of Sanbornton, NH died Saturday December 28, 2019 at his daughter’s home in Londonderry, NH surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cambridge, MA on August 6, 1948, a son of the late Joseph and Edna (Miles) Kelley.
Bill served in the Army during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant Rifle Marksman. He was the recipient of the Vietnam service medal with a bronze service star and the Vietnam campaign medal. He was a member of the VFW and the Masonic Lodge.
Bill served as a NH State Representative, and was a Selectman for the Town of Raymond, NH. He was a member of the Raymond School Board and served as a member of the Raymond Budget Committee. Bill retired as a Locomotive Engineer from Consolidated Rail.
He played baseball and hockey in high school and was an avid Boston sports fan.
Bill was a member of many bowling leagues, and coached little league baseball for the town of Georgetown, MA.
He is survived by his first ex-wife of 14 years, Kathleen J. Gibbs (Kelley), of Phillipston, MA, and their three children, Sheri Zumbruski of Vernon, VT, Shannon Kennedy and her husband, Shawn Kennedy of Londonderry, NH, Kevin Kelley of Boston, MA, two grandchildren, Anthony Ferraro of Londonderry, NH, and Logan Zumbruski of Vernon, VT.
His second ex-wife, Marge Kelley, and their one adopted daughter, Kimberly Kimball, and two grandchildren, as well as three stepchildren, Jeff Decareau, Susan Decareau, Dawn Decareau, (deceased) and John Decareau, and one step grandchild.
Following cremation, private graveside services will be held at the NH State Veteran’s Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. A private celebration of life will follow the funeral services. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry is assisting the family with arrangements.
