Obituary

Jimmy Franklin “Peanut” Howell, Sr., 74, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, December 27, 2019, at Pruitt Health in Ocilla, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held, 10 AM, Saturday, December 28, 2019, at the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Jonathan Burch officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mr. Howell was born November 17, 1945, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Jesse Jackson Howell, Sr. & Mary Ella Lindsey Howell. He graduated from Irwin County High School and served in the National Guard. Mr. Howell retired from the CSX Railroad as a conductor. He was of the Holiness faith.

He is survived by his sons: Jimmy Howell, Jr. & his wife Emily, Joshua Lee Howell and Jesse Lewis Howell, all of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jadyn Howell, Kerrigan Howell and Kate Howell; brothers and their spouses: Sammy O. Howell & Gail of Fitzgerald, Lamar Howell & Rhonda of Greensboro, Donnie V. Howell & Debbie of Fitzgerald, Ronnie Howell & Dianne of Warner Robins, Dean Howell of Lake City, Florida and two sisters and their spouses: Laverne Tucker & Joe of Alapaha and Dianne H. Kinnett & Jimmy of Leesburg. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shawn Armenda Adamson Howell; a son, Jacob Howell; two brothers, Jesse Jackson Howell, Jr. and infant Jerry Wayne Howell; and two sisters: DeLois H. Handley and Jeanette H. Woods.
