Lucy A. (Martin) Martin of Reading passed away on Monday, January 30, 2006 at Woodbriar Nursing Home in Wilmington. She was 97 years of age.
Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, Lucy was the beloved daughter of the late Hector Martin and Angeline (Peters) Martin. Lucy was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all.
Lucy was a resident of Reading since 1927. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and a loyal member of St. Agnes Parish. She worked for J.S. Temple Company in Reading making neckties.
Lucy was the beloved wife of the late Edward H. Martin. She was the devoted mother of Earl Martin and his wife Ellie of Wilmington, Grace Grover and her husband William of North Reading and Leland Martin of Reading. Lucy was the cherished grandmother of Patricia Hopkins, Michael Martin, William Grover Jr., David and Arthur Grover and John Martin. She was the loving great grandmother of 8 and the dear sister of William and Helen Martin. Lucy was pre-deceased by 12.
Funeral from the Joseph Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Thursday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Lucy’s life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot locate behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
