Edward John “EJ” Boelzner, Jr. passed away on December 23, 2019 in the comfort of his home following a courageous journey with ALS. EJ was born on October 15, 1980 in Dover, NH. He lived in several New England communities, including Johnston, RI; Franklin, MA; and Manchester, NH. EJ was a graduate of Manchester West High School, Manchester, NH.
EJ cherished his family, which includes his wife, Megan (Eastman) Boelzner; his parents, Heidi (Schlachter) and Vince Devlin, and Edward Boelzner; brother, Christopher Ryan Boelzner; sisters, Valerie and Kristin Boelzner; grandparents, the late Karl Schlachter, II, Marion (Pennington) Schlachter, Frederick Boelzner and Virginia (Heyer) Boelzner. He is also survived by a large family of beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
EJ savored the beauty of God’s creation and enjoyed skiing, fishing, snowmobiling, hunting and gardening. He had a fondness for the grandeur of a majestic mountain. A natural athlete, EJ played many sports and enjoyed the fellowship of his teammates from the Emmanuel Baptist Church softball team.
Also, a gifted musician, EJ played guitar with the church worship team and at blues jams throughout the region. At home, EJ could often be found designing and building his own computers and guitar amplifiers or connecting with friends and family over video games. His affection for sweet treats was renowned, particularly Hood Golden Egg Nog, his mom’s pumpkin pie, and tall glasses of milk crammed full of Oreos.
At the age of 33, EJ decided to become an electrician’s apprentice, later earning his Journeyman’s license. He found great pride and satisfaction working in this field alongside his dear friend, Eric Wilhelm, Jr., and was privileged to most recently be employed by Rodenhiser Home Services.
EJ’s greatest joy in life came from his relationship with Jesus Christ. In the midst of tremendous adversity, he was unwavering in his faith. He had a passion to share the hope of Christ with anyone who wanted to know the source of his courage and strength. We rejoice in knowing EJ’s joy is now made complete in the presence of his Savior.

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” John 14:1-7, ESV
