Alice F. (McNamara) Jasmin, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died at the New England Medical Center in Boston on Sunday, January 29 after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Richard J. Jasmin. Born and educated in Stoughton, Mrs. Jasmin was a Teacher’s Aide at the West School in Stoughton for several years before working as a receptionist for JF McNamara & Sons in Stoughton until retiring a short time ago. Mrs. Jasmin was the 1st woman President of Stoughton Little League and was on the Board of Directors for Stoughton Babe Ruth. She was a past Town Meeting Representative and Past Chairman of the 5th District. In her free time she loved walking, biking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan, especially the New England Patriots.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jasmin is survived by her sons, Richard J. Jasmin, Jr. and his wife Janet and Edward J. Jasmin both of Stoughton and Michael J. Jasmin and his wife Karen of Avon, as well as her grandchildren, Richard W., Kaitlyn, Lindsey, Thomas and Ryan. She is also survived by her siblings, Lucy McElroy of S. Yarmouth, James F. McNamara, III of Brockton, Mary Lou Malone, Ellen McSweeney and Kathleen McNamara all of Stoughton and Ann Condon of Hingham. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, William McNamara.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, February 2 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Donations in Alice’s name may be made to the charity of your choice. Interment will take place at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne.
