New Bedford – Mildred (LeBlanc) Sorenson passed away December 19, 2019 at Sacred Heart Nursing Home. She was the widow of Wyllis R. Sorenson to whom she was married for 56 years.
Mrs. Sorenson was born in Acushnet, the daughter of the late Arthemise LeBlanc, and resided in Acushnet most of her life. She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church. She enjoyed music, dancing, traveling, visiting the casino and most of all spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter: Susan M. Petitpas and her partner, Jim Ahern; her son: Chris Sorenson and his wife, Terry; 2 former daughters-in-law: Suzanne Burger and Terry Sorenson; 7 grandchildren: David and his wife, Heather, Renee, Gregg, Jessica and her husband, Adam, Joshua and his wife, Becky, Nicole and her husband, Ryan, and Mathew; 10 great-grandchildren: Ashley, Alec, Madison, Megan, Noah, Ciera, Chandler, Charlie, Cody and Adam; and several nieces & nephews. She was mother of the late Michael R. Sorenson and Wesley T. Sorenson.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Sacred Heart Home Chapel, 359 Summer Street, 3rd floor, New Bedford 02740.
Burial will be private.
