Brenda J. (Ponte) Correia, 73, of Fairhaven died Saturday, December 21, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late John C. Correia.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Cormier) Ponte, she lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to Fairhaven.
Brenda enjoyed shopping, traveling with her husband, yard sales, puzzles and spending time with her family.
She is survived by four children, Louis Lucio and his wife Linda, Michelle Uzzell and her husband Todd, Roxanne Lucio and her companion Burt Robinson, and Michael Lucio and his wife Mary; three brothers, David Ponte, Arthur DaPonte, and John Ponte; three sisters, Cynthia Arruda, Susan Ouimet, and Elaine Orlowski; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, John C. Correia, Jr.; her granddaughter, April Uzzell; her grandson, Brandon Marvel; and her siblings, Janice Baptiste and Lionel, Ronald, and William Ponte.
Her memorial service will be held Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 12 noon at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 351 Elm Street, Dartmouth, MA 02748. For online guestbook, visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
