Santina "Tina" L. (LaCava) Scimemi, of Peabody, formerly of Medford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19th. She was 92. Born in Chelsea, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Alessandra (Peluso) LaCava.
Tina loved her family they were her pride and joy. She would help anyone and welcomed everyone into the family with open arms. She was actively involved at the Brooksby Village, generating donations to their various foundations, welcoming all new Catholic residences to the community, and singing her heart out at the weekly karaoke events. In her earlier years Tina was a dedicated member of Saint Joseph's parish, a former president of the Saint Joseph School Mother's club, and frequently sang in the choir.
Santina was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore A. Scimemi. She was the devoted mother of Vivian S. Johnson and her husband Bud, of Plymouth, and the late Scott J. Scimemi and his surviving partner Deborah Marchetti. The loving Grammy of Melissa J. Liu and her husband Simin, and Jennifer J. Clark and her husband Dak, and Chanel Scimemi and the great-grammy of Adam J., Dylan J. and Nora J. Liu, and Laney N. Clark.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Monday, December 23rd from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
