Reginald Marion Fletcher, Sr., 89, of Ocilla passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Pruitt Health-Ocilla. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Fletcher at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. A private burial for Mr. Fletcher will be held at a later date.
Born March 14, 1930 in Irwin County, Mr. Fletcher was the son of the late Ben Drew Fletcher and Ruby C. Childs Fletcher. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Thornton Fletcher; and two sisters, Flo Quinney and Jessie Griffin. He was a retired veteran of the United States Navy, where he served in the Korean War. He began as a radio and TV instructor and retired as Director of Research and Planning at Ben Hill-Irwin Technical School. He loved growing flowers and plants and owned a nursery. He was also a Mason for many years.
Mr. Fletcher is survived by one son, Reggie Fletcher, Jr. of Irwin County; one daughter, Lori Alexander of Lawrenceville; one brother, Clair Fletcher of Lake Park; and one grandson, Dilland Shands.
